Clever clogs
Tried to install iTunes 8 and had the same recurring problem as before. Which is to say it didn't.
Ran Disk Utility and Repaired the Disk Permissions, restarted, then downloaded iTunes 8 again. Worked like a charm. Hubby's iPhone is now downloading it's software update. And all in the garden is lovely.
