Candy sales are going through the roof, pumpkins are disappearing from their patches, orange is replacing red as black’s accent of choice, and ghosties and ghoulies are emerging from every spare nook and cranny: it’s that time of year again. Halloween is in full swing here in San Francisco, and Mishima is no exception. All Hallows has taken over, and it’s everywhere you look. But whether you’re hoping to scare yourself silly at one of the city’s many spectacular haunted houses or laugh yourself scared at a showing of the Victoria Theater’s Rocky Horror Show, there’s one event that just everyone’s got to stop in to see.
Seventh Heaven sits just off campus, and it’s real easy to get to from any direction. The bar tends to feel more like a home away from home than a bar, which seems to be a source of pride for owner Tifa Lockhart. “I like a large extended family,” Tifa says, smiling. “Everyone's happy when they walk through the door and if not, I try to make it better." Even the menu, while mostly Tifa’s own recipies, boasts additions not only from the staff, but customers as well. Most impressive of all is how fast Seventh Heaven gained it’s following - the bar only opened about six months ago.
Seventh Heaven’s Halloween Party is looking to be a grand affair. While most of the party’s events are being kept under wraps, it’s still promising to be a great time and a fun night. The costume contest has some great prizes guaranteed (though also secret), and half-off prices on some of the menu items is perfect if you’re on a budget. And since the party’s on Halloween night, it’ll be a great place to warm up after trick-or-treating, one of the city’s many street festivals, or just meet up with friends. It’s open all night, so be sure to head down and join the family.
