Dream Journal 2

I need to write this dream down before I forget; I have the impression that this is a recurring dream that I forgot at some point.

Someone has died. A friend of the family, and a special friend of mine. It's a young boy with white hair. He looks a lot like Mytho from Princess Tutu. I figure I'm about Wendy's age in Peter Pan. I certainly feel like it. I'm staying in a huge, golden mansion for some reason, during the funeral proceedings, and I wander through countless unused rooms, some of which resemble the antique rooms in the lobby of Villa Maria's building, which isn't a surprise, now that I'm conscious. I heard rumors among friends and family of the deceased that the boy was still animated, dead, but awake and talking and moving. These people exhibited horror and repulsion at this new, and I think to myself that if it's true I won't feel the same way.

I come upon this golden hall at the end of which is a pair of large doors. Somehow I got the impression that those doors were forbidden, so I open them. At the end of the long room, I see a bed, and in that bed, my dead friend. In morbid curiousity, I come up to him, and he speaks to me. He looks perfectly normal except for the fact that I know he should be dead, and there's something slightly more sinister about him then he was when he was alive. I flee the room in fear. Now, in the hall, there is a large green tree planted in a pot in the middle of the hall. I'm not sure whether it was there before or if I just didn't notice it. What I know for sure wasn't there before are two apples: a Gala apple and a Granny Smith apple, sitting on the broad edge of the pot, or maybe on a small table next to the pot. Someone else comes up to me, and, this part is sort of blurry, but this is a person who is asking me to explain the facts of life to them. So I start to, using the apples, and then I look back at the room I ran from, and feel guilty for leaving the poor boy all alone, even if he's dead and slightly creepy now, so I move back into the room and talk to both of them.

The following parts are kind of blurry, but I recall that at some point he was too weak to sit up, but soon he was walking around. At some point while we were talking with my friend who wanted to know about the birds and the bees, someone's mother brought us a snack. I remember shifting around when the snack came, and that's just about the end of my dream.

You know, I don't think I've ever had that dream where you come to school for your oral presentation and you realize that you're naked, or similar dreams. My dreams are all atypical, populated by giant floating fish and cactisequoias and stuff like that.
