Seems LJ is finally back. A big THANK YOU and WELL DONE to the all of the LJ staff for working on the problem and keeping us updated.
This past weekend was lovely. On Saturday,
youngraven, Shaddow, and
typsygypys, joined Julie* and myself to go to Piranha in Arlington. Yummy sushi! Then we walked to My Martini for after-dinner drinks and listen to the jazz band.
kurlyfry joined us and the five of us had a blast.
On Sunday, Julie and I went to see the Western Art exhibit at the Sid Richardson Museum in Ft. Worth. I had plans to join
typsygypsy and Brink at Mistletoe to go over some tunes-we're thinking about doing some busking in Sundance Square when the weather turns warmer-but by the time we finished at the museum and I got a chance to call, Brink was already packing his instrument and getting ready to leave. Feeling hungry, Julie & I invited
typsygypsy to join us for dinner at Pappasito's. The dinner was okay but what they called "salsa" was nearly flavorless. I wonder if it had something to do with the current tomato situation.
Since Julie had a previous engagement,
typsygypsy dropped me at MacHenry's. Sunday was MacHenry's "Flip Day Showcase," celebrating the day that MacHenry's has now officially been at their new location longer than at their old. So there were a number of musicians and bands set to play, starting with the Trinity River Whalers! Pleasantly, several folks asked if any more of Spriggan intended to show to play a set. Unfortunately, we were not set to play but it was very nice to be asked. Julie joined me later that evening and we listened to a few more bands before heading out.
Today, I get to deal with Office Depot. I've applied for a job there and the application process is two-part: one paper and the other a computerized questionnaire. On Saturday, I learned I had not passed the computer section but was welcome to come in and try it again. So after that's what I'll be doing today. Wish me luck!
*for those of you who are remember and are wondering, this is not the same Julie I dated '98-'99.
