Did you know that 6% of workers in the U.S. take off the day after the Superbowl? Well, Mom's in the exclusive percent. Turned out to be fortuitous. My sister wasn't feeling well and had made an appointment to see her doctor. Because she and her husband are a one-car household, she needed a ride. Since Mom had taken the day, I was happily available to give that ride. Thankfully, it was nothing too serious. A trip to pharmacy to fill the prescription and obtain some vitamins and we were on our way back home.
The rest of the day was a lazy day. Made dinner, watched the inanity of the oh-so earthshattering controversy of the Half-Time extra exposure, and enjoyed the network edited Gladiator.
I did hear from
fdlgrl that she and
singedcat would be spending a quiet evening. Given the vast amounts of high socializing and playing done over the weekend, I can't say I'm surprised. Admittedly, a bit disappointed I shan't be able to say, "goodbye, " in person to
singedcat, but not surprised.
I've yet to hear back from either
RenRadio or
Celtic Word Radio so I continue to hope that I shall hear good news soon.
According to my calenders, today is:

1922-The fully clothed body of William Desmond Taylor lay on his living room floor. He was killed the night before. Though the body was discovered early in the morning, the police were not called until close to noon; the crime scene had been tampered.
Using rodents to predict the weather is always uncertain.
Dave Peverett, drummer Roger Earl, and bassist Tony Stevens quit Savoy Brown in the 70's to form Foghat. Rod Price joined as lead guitar. The name came from Dave and his brother, invented years earlier in a Scrabble game. Heavily influenced by blues and early rock'n'roll, Foghat built a large base of fans through frequent touring. The band broke up in the 80's, reunited in the 90's, and had a 2nd time around success in the 90's remaking their 70's hits Slow Ride and I Just Wanna Make Love To You. They are known for their album Dazed and Confused.
