Well our choices are what I thought they would be. Cincinnati or Charleston, South Carolina. And this change will happen in 30 days regardless of which one is picked

That's a tough one. I agree, it would be an easier decision if he made the extra money on his salary. I mean, what if things get bad for the company - bonuses aren't guaranteed especially if the company isn't doing well.
The one thing I found out moving around my whole childhood is that after awhile, everyplace is the same. Family is still the main focus. So I would just do whatever is best for the family. Will Ben have to work a lot more hours because he is higher up or in charge? You might end up by yourself a lot, somewhere where you don't know anyone. That would suck, especially if you are working because all the kids stuff and housework would fall back on you. But a big promotion maybe could lead to you not having to work in a couple years, so that would be cool. Or you may spend all the extra money on eating out an dpaying someone to clean your house because your all so busy. It seems like the SC option would only be fun if you didn't have to work or maybe only had to work part time. Of course, if Ben works in CIncy he will gone a lot more because of the commute. Hmmmm
I don't know what I would do. Putting myself in the situation - it's nice to have family here to watch the kids and have them to count on. But Ohio is boring and it would be nice to live somewhere new and near the beach. But I hate the heat so I would probably stay inside. But I would want Brian to do what is best for his career. But I would hate trying to find a new job and possibly not being able to find something I liked. Unless I cold stay home in SC. But if Brian's job moved to Cincinnati, I would want to move somewhere closer between his job and downtown Dayton - or maybe just find a job in Cincinnati so we could all be down there. They have some really nice neighborhoods down in Cincy and there is so much to do there. So, for me, I would probably be moving either way. But Cincy is closer to my family and we could see them often and they cold be there to help us out if we needed it. But SC has the beach and is a chance for a fresh start and get away from family dependence so much. It would be a very hard decision for me too! I don't know what I would choose.
