Just an Update
Because I don't want to do work at a job I am leaving anyways, I am going to give an update for my own record from this long week (which I don't mind sharing) and to waste time this morning:
- Had dinner Monday night with Ben's soon to be old boss and wife at a very nice steak place. We filled up on steak, rolls, salad and yummy desserts. The neighbors watched the boys.
- After a long and stressful debate with Ben's company earlier in the week, they are going to take both vehicles to move us and we will fly to St. Louis (otherwise we would have to drive one for almost 12 hours with the kids and dog). They base it on a 700 mile point. If it's more then 700 miles, they will transport both vehicles. If it's under, they transport one. If you do Ben's work now to his new work it's 687 miles. If you do our address to our new address, it's 716. They wanted to go with the 687. Thirteen miles! But we got our way now so all is well.
- Flying our dog became an issue. Did you know that you can't fly a dog if the temperature is below 20 degrees or it could be higher then that depending on your dog? I didn't know this. Seeing that when we fly out, there is a cold front and St. Louis's low will be in the teens, that is not good (could change but we don't want to risk it). We decided to be on the safe side and fly our dog to my mom's house a few days before we leave. We will pick him up when we come to Ohio for Christmas. We also need to buy a huge dog cage, get Vet's papers, etc...
- I fired my realtor. She was MAD!! Our contract is till the end of December and she plans to fight anything otherwise so I told her that she has 3 weeks to sell my house then. I tried to blame Ben for being the one that is unhappy but she got bitchy with me and made an insulting remark and I went off on her. We met with a new realtor last night and Ben really liked him. He tried to tell us in a nice way that our realtor has a reputation for being a bitch and other realtors stay away from her. Could be why our house isn't sold because no one likes to do business with her. This guy is great though, has lots of energy, works with Prudential, very smart and is going to watch our house like a hawk while it sits empty. We did all the paperwork with him last night and once her contract is up, the next day he is ready to put his sign in the yard.
- Called my insurance company for our house and auto to see if they provide coverage in MO. I didn't know that if you leave your house empty that they will only insure your house for 6 months after that. Insurance companies don't like to insure empty houses. But if you leave some furniture there, you can say it's your second home, it's okay and they insure until whenever.
- Called to set up getting carpets steam cleaned once the movers are done.
- My last day of work here is next week, Wednesday the 10th.
- The movers start coming next week, the 11th and 12th to start packing. They leave us alone over the weekend and then the 15th they finish and load. We stay in a hotel here for two nights. I will go to the house on the 16th to let the carpet people in and clean up the house. We fly to St. Louis the 17th and stay in a hotel for a few days until our stuff gets there. Should be the 19th. I start my new job though on the 18th. Crazy. We'll have to rent two cars and Ben will be putting around with the boys all day.
- I notified the boy's school that there last day is the 16th. Jace's last day at daycare is that day too. I have called the new school and Vacation Station program and have everything I need to get them set up once we get there (which will be Ben's job).
- I have filled out and mailed paperwork to Manpower for the new job. I went and took drug test yesterday for the new job. I have picked up vaccination records for all 3 boys for school and daycare.
- Sent in Change of Address form to post office.
- My Grandma is in Hospice now hooked up to 100% oxygen. She is hanging on and no one knows why. My mom and Aunt take turns staying the night because someone wants to be there when she passes.
- My job is busy but I'm passing off everything and I don't really care anymore. I just went to a meeting and half the room of engineers this was their last day because they got laid off and our Project Manager is getting laid off so we were bringing the project up to speed with the Project Manager who gets to keep his job. That was fun.
- This weekend will be sorting through everything we need to get rid of (GoodWill) or keep and what goes to the apartment and what doesn't.
- We are all fighting off sickness. Jace had a fever a few nights ago and has a cough. Hayden has a sore throat right now. I am very tired and achy and Jace is having poop problems again even though I've been doing Miralax almost every day. Ben just got over the Sinus infection he had since last week.
- I haven't started or thought of Christmas presents or cards yet. Ho Ho Ho
