I'M AN AUNTY!!!
*squee* She's here! After the longest wait ever and a horrifyingly long labor the 8lb 5oz Kassidy Rae was welcomed into this world by my younger brother and his fiance @ about 8am this morning. I couldn't sleep last night I was so anxious so of course when I finally did was when mom called to tell me they were moving on to a c-section. And about an hour and a half or two after that was when she was born. Naturally I was pretty much out of it. lol Of course I called Jaundice at work right away to tell him he was an uncle. He really didn't seem to care (*sigh*) thought he did comment that he never thought that would happen (since he has no siblings). I went back to sleep after that figuring I didn't want to get Monk up too early since it's Saturday but when I did all I had to tell him was that Kass was born and he was right awake and so excited since this is his first born first cousin. :) Kind of funny that I was his age when the twins were born too. They still don't have her darn picture up on the hospital site but mom said she has red hair which is weird cause the only person in our fam who had it would be the baby's great-great grandmother. Must have come from his fiance's side I guess lol. What's kind of dorky cool though is that my favorite aunt is my mom's sister and we call her Aunt Re or Aunty ReRe. A shortened version of her name just like how everyone calls me Rhi. So now I get to be Aunt Rhi or Aunty RhiRhi to someone hehe!
OMG as a silly aside... my childhood best friend's sister had a baby last month and I forgot to get around to looking at the site to see her son. Now of course they're all back home so he was born in the same hospital as my neice so all I had to do was look down the page for him. He was easy to find... why? Because she and her boyfriend named him Uzi. Like the gun. But I guess they chose the name cause it means 'peace' in hebrew or something. LMAO Ah well. Could be worse I guess... he could be ugly. :P
