“Can You”

I wonder to myself what I am worth to the world
Crashing down like a ton of bricks onto my chest
Suffocating under my last breath of sanity
Despite what I have heard of premonition
I waste away with in my mental grave
In those last seconds I think to myself

If I ever wake up again
Can you be there?
If I shut my eyes one last time
Can you open them?
And if I die tonight
Can you love me?

And if everything could only be better one last time
The way it was in the beginning
Breathing out so I can live
I need you here more than ever
Seeing the end right in front of me
And yet I ask myself

Deceased in this world of corruption
I can only see what comes next
Emptiness in my heart and a soul of regret
Burn a hole straight thru my head
And into the obituaries
Questions left unanswered
