These instructions make no sense!

3. Pin front facing to front, matching notches and centers. Stitch upper edge and side edges between large circles I get this part. Trim.
4. Turn facing to inside. Press, continuing to press self facing to inside along foldline.
6. Pin front self facing to side fronts, matching notches. Stitch to square. Press seam allowances forward to front.
Fuck you, Vogue, for saying this pattern was "Easy"!
I've spent the past two days tinkering around home: organizing all the crafty things I've picked up in the past week, reading Sew U by Wendy Mullins, which I highly recommend for anyone who knows a bit or nothing about sewing and wants to have all of their questions answered. She explains everything I wanted to know and more in this book; it's easy to read, clear to understand, have fun pictures and diagrams, and little homework assignments to get you started. Plus, it's rather practical and timeless, yet completely flexible, unlike many sewing/crafting books geared at the new DIY generation. Between it and my older edition of The Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing, I feel like I have a few good resources for getting the job done.
Obviously, it's a rather great book. Other than its inability to explain Vogue's inability to expound upon their instructions with more clarity.
