1. Our peonies are blooming! I couldn't resist picking a couple.
2. Some time ago, I posted a picture of one of the mosses found in our woods and mentioned how much I'd like to have a book about them. Found one, along with another one about herb gardens. They are both so lovely, I can hardly stand it. The ony down side is that they came from a local bookstore going out of business after 30 years.
3. One of the chipmunks who lives out front and I have this thing. First, she sits staring intently at the front door. If I don't see her right away, she dashes around until her flurry of movement catches my eye. Then I go out with the nuts and put them in her special place. As soon as I go back in the house, she comes for them. It's amazing how many she can stuff into her cheeks at one time. Tomorrow, we'll do it again.
4. I've been experimenting with making my own eau de toilette lately. First, I tried wisteria blossoms. That didn't turn out so well, but it was my first attempt and there was a learning curve. The second batch, wild roses this time, was a rousing success. I even went out and found a pretty little atomizer to spritz with. Counting the picked peonies, the whole house yesterday was filled with the most incredibly wonderful fragrances.
5. And we have bright sun today, after three days of dreary rain and chill! It's supposed to stay that way all through the weekend, which means we can release 19 of our baby bunnies this evening. Yay!
Wishing you all awesome smells, good friends, and a wonderful weekend!
