Time passages

I've been thinking about this writing thing. When we first moved to this property, the house itself was in disrepair. I'm talking on the verge of falling down. The land was considered a wasteland. Most of the area near the front was bare clay. People snickered at us for buying it, but we saw potential and ignored them. Look at how much it's changed in the last 20 years!

This is view from the road 20 years ago:                                         And this is the view from the house to the road today:

Over that time, our lives changed, too, in a big way. We became rehabbers. Our experience of time frames, watching things grow and change, compressed. In just a few short weeks, babies went from

this                                                                                                             to this:

It's made me impatient with the life cycle of writing. Yet I know it's just the nature of the beast.

I'm hoping my books fall somewhere in the middle. Good things have been happening over the last few months in that direction. Nothing earth-shattering, but enough to keep me going and give me a lot of hope.

May good things come to all of us who wait! (Except for that avalanche of a snowstorm bearing down on us for tomorrow. Yikes.)

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Stay safe.
