On days 2 and 3 of my stress-free romp in Ottawa, I drove downtown and wandered the city.  My first stop of course, was Parliament Hill.  The architecture is wicked (all Gothic and such) and the views are spectacular.  I wanted to go on one of the tours, but I am bad with time and I kept missing them (oh, well...just another excuse to return I ( Read more... )

I learned some fun things last week...

• Sometimes the best thing to do in life is throw all caution to the wind and go on an unplanned, no-drama adventure!  I have to admit, I don’t usually just run off to another country to visit a friend on a whim, but it was very worth it.

So I drove to Ottawa last week.  It only took about 8 hours to get there and I didn't get lost once (which is a major accomplishment for me). The return trip only took about 6.5 hours since I was a bit more familiar with the route.

So I am off for another great adventure.  I am taking a road trip to Ottawa to visit with some friends before things get wonky at work with the acquisition. This time the trip is personal, so I will actually have time for some site seeing.

So we made it back from Vancouver.  I never wanted to come back.  I admit that I cried a few times while leaving (well okay, I cried a lot).  The air was unbelievable clean (no asthma issues at all!) and everything was better than I thought.  I have not experienced cleaner air since visiting South Africa.  I think I might have to write a travel ( Read more... )
