"I lift the hair from your neck, the trees sway in the wind and we will dance beneath them."
-The Umbrellas
I love Scott Windosr. he is really one person who can capture all of my emotions in music. He can have beautiful happy songs then just bash you with something like "Whispers of a Long Goodnight" I mean The lyndsay Dairies has always held a spot in my heart and even though I never give him as much credit as he deserves if I had one album to listen to for years on end or forever it owuld probably be The Tops Of Trees are on Fire. That album just puts me at ease but can jerk tears from my eyes like no other. That album has more good memories asscoiated with it than any other I own, it also has not so good memories of summer mornings waking to tears, don't know why.
I was reading some T.S. Eliot for fun tonight because I don't have class tomorrow so Thursday nights are really my only time for free reading and only reading a novel once a week just doesn't work for me so Poetry hits a good spot. I can analyze it and just read it for enjoyment, tonight was souly for enjoyment. My favorites line int he long poem I read, "Burnt norton", were these: "Go,go,go, said the bird:human kind/ Cannot bear veyr much reality." (l 42-43) Just that hit wella nd I read it maybe four or five times after I read the whol poem. I don't know why but maybe at this time and my mood these lines hit hard in my mind and really felt real, like someone was talking to me.
I have been researching a lot about hubert Selby Jr. A documentary that was filmed before he died is coming out on dvd the 1th and I am very excited. his writing is so unique and his style is great. I love his stories because of how they are so true to human emotions and not hiding anything or any detials. yes they are violent, rude, vulgar and very very obscene but they have such a beautiful way of presenting themselves. I just hope to read and find a copy of The Room somewhere that is not online because I have no way to purchase it.
I have a list of books I want to read started. the top is Ulysses by Joyce. That will take some time and deication but this summer I plan on doing it and knowing this important piece of literature. it is rated the ebst work of fiction or book of the 20th century and it was written at the turn almost. His prose are beautiful a nd the stream of conciousness style he single handlidly took tot he fore front, not souly or singly he had some help from the likes of Virginia Woolf but he carried the laod with Ulysses. I will also be reading some Krouac and Selby Jr more this summer and for poetry really swelling on Ginsberg.
For now I will let my mind wander and try and sleep or something. Who really knows if i even sleep anymore things in my dreams are so real I wake up scared even if they are posetive. they are just so real i need a check and I feel things shouldn't be that way so I wake up quick. And then i can be up for an hour or two and not knwo the time and realize it is really time to get up for class. I am wandering right now so Iwill leave.
