I think there's a fighting style where you can attack with both, but you kinda have to split your mind a bit, and the defense can be weak. BUT if you're fast (or Ryuichi) you can attack both at once.
Better still when you're using two different weighted types of weapons, and confuse the hell out of people.
Ko doesn't care though! :D Makes life interesting to spar with Ryuichi.
And as writers, we always put a little something of ourselves into our characters.
No matter how much sex I write my characters doing, I find it difficult to have them conceive of sex unless I've read OF them doing it. Or thinking it.
Like, "Oh, this is a situation where Kakashi would be lustful. Okay, insert lust here."

Very visual thinkers, they are.
Our characters have to be something like us, or incorporate something from us, or else they wouldn't be easy to write at all!
Which makes it so clever, difficult, and downright frustrating to write clincially insane sociopaths or something.

Maybe it's just so much easier to take it to an extreme? Because your characters are so... logical that it takes them out of the sanity allowance in normal present society.
Actually, I htink they ARE sane, just... in a different spectrum al together.
