pols_icon 1) This counts as random quirk I suppose, but I always put things in my mouth without thinking about it. Like, if I see something my instinct is to put it in my mouth to find out what it is. Even things I know, I find myself chewing on or just holding between my lips. It's a really weird quirk I suppose but yeah, it's true. If you've done any psychology Freud will say it's because I'm stuck in the oral stage and I guess I would have to agree with him. It's really weird but yeah, I bite my nails, I always run necklaces across my lips when I'm wearing one, I will pick up something and put it in my mouth before I've even thought what it is. Yeah ... weird right?
2) I've been making computer graphics since I was like 11/12. I first started making them when I first started to join forums to do with Buffy (because it was my first real fandom) back when I still had to lie about my age to join them. Everyone had such pretty/awesome sigs and I wanted to know how to make them so I got my Dad to give me a lesson in how to use Photoshop (because he already knew how to use it). From there I went on to use Paint Shop Pro, because it was easier, and then returned to PS when my PSP started messing up and I didn't know how to fix it and haven't gone back on my choice since.
3) I constantly have crisis moments whilst at Uni over my choice to take Film Studies. I always feel as though I have made a wrong turn and ended up there when I should be doing something like Psychology or Sociology. I mean, I always go back to feeling confident about Film again but then a month down the line I start to question myself again. My only saviour is that luckily both Psych and Sociology feed into Film Studies so I still get to look into those areas when I feel as though I am unsure of myself, e.g. my recent presentation on Psychology and Big Brother for my TV Genres module.
4) I automatically will feel more passionate about a canon homosexual relationship than a heterosexual one. This one ... I have no idea where it comes from but whenever I watch something I will always end up shipping the homosexual relationship more. And it doesn't even just stay within the world of television/filmmaking/literature etc. If I see a gay couple kissing it always think it is more adorable/sweet/beautiful than a straight couple. I seriously have no reason for this it just has been that way for as long as I can remember. I just have a weird obsession with homosexual culture and the reading of homosexually in the media and culture on a whole. Kinda strange for a straight girl, right?
5) This one was given to me by my housemate Gabs, but when I find something funny in a film/tv I look around to see if other people are laughing too, and I guess this extends out from just laughter. If I am rewatching something with someone who has never seen it before I find myself constantly monitoring their reactions to things I love. It really annoys my mum when I do as well xD
6) I have one of the shortest attention spans, without a diagnosed condition, in the world. I swear to God. I can be set on doing one thing and like ten minutes later I will have distracted myself with something else and it's not even that I actively seek out things to distract myself with either? I will be writing an essay and then will have to look something up on the internet as a reference and then will discover I've just been reading various pages on wikipedia for half an hour or something. As a result though I have lots of random knowledge about lots of random things.
7) My friends refer to me as CMDB, as in Cassie Movie Data Base because I apparently use a crazy amount of my memory just remembering random things about actors/actresses/directors/screenwriters etc. Even when I was at college if my teacher couldn't remember a film title or actors name and stuff he would always ask me and I would have the answer. And it's not even that I retain them from films I've seen. I know credits for people of films I've never seen or know nothing about. I just seem to read them and then know them ... it's quite helpful during trivia games or the celebrity game. I am undefeated in that! xD
And just because I'm nice, an additional little fact 8) I've been listening to John Mayer the entire time I was writing this.
