Hey, hey, hey!
I went to Osaka last Saturday evening to meet my friend Riran. She lives in Kobe so it was good to meet in Osaka since it's about half-way for both of us. Umeda station in Osaka i effing huge by the way. Took us a while to find each other. When we did I handed her a late birthday present. Last Tuesday was her 23rd birthday, so I had gotten Mom to send me some Swedish souvernirs. A little plush moose with the Swedish flag on it is now one of her accessories, haha.
It's kind of funny because last Tuesday (the 8th) was also Kim in my class' birthday. We went out for dinner at an isakaya. When I asked him what he wanted for a birthday present, he just replied with: Alcohol, women, and money. Making it a bit hard for me to find a creative birthday gift for him. But I had a bottle of Swedish Absolut Vodka, that I got from Mats when he went back home to Sweden (it was too heavy). Well, at least it was one of the things he had wished for. So, I gave that to him, and he was quite pleased...
Well, back to Saturday! The main event of our meeting was going out clubbing in Osaka because there's alot of good clubs around there. But before that we went to eat something and found this Hawaiian resturant. They had very good food, but it was also very heavy food, so I couldn't eat all of mine.
After dinner we went to a CD store, and I bought a Japanese CD! My first! There's this song that I like and that I've been hearing in restaurants and shops all over Kyoto, so I just had to get a hold of it. Someone told me they were called Greeeen, so I went searching for it and found it pretty fast. It's a good CD, I don't like all the songs though. I was also very happy when I realized that I can understand some parts of the Japanese songs now. Studying pays off! Here's the song if you want to listen:

After that we went out to a club called Pure. They have free drinks on Saturday nights. I like! All you had to pay was entrance. The interior there was really cool, though a bit small for the kind of crowd it attracts. The floor was also a bit uneven, so you really had to look out not to fall over sometimes. The VIP room's entrance was also hidden by a bookshelf/sliding door. Really cool!
Now, Riran knows alot of people in Osaka so I got to talk to alot of Japanese people. It was alot of fun. Most of them were pretty baffled/amused that I could talk to them in Japanese. Hee hee. But there was also alot of people coming talking to me that I didn't really want to talk to. Like how do you feel if some random guy from wherever (no Japanese guys did this) just grabs your arm while you're walking by? Not interested! I was there to hang out with my friend, and maybe find some nice Japanese guy to talk to. Also really annoying with random guys who, on the dancefloor, comes up behind you and starts dancing up against you. Ew. Please don't do that, guys! Lucky that I and Riran watch out for each other, so we can prevent that fom happening in most of the cases.
There was this one Japanese guy that I had checked out that actually came up to me. But all he said was "Hello" and then nothing more, and then just left. Shy maybe? Well, at least he got my attention. Me and Riran were kind of busy dancing and hanging around though so I didn't really get a chance to get close to him until later in the evening (morning). But just before they were closing for the night he came up on the dancefloor too and I managed to get him to dance with me. Very hot! I'm usually very shy when it comes to stuff like this. And I am really bad at making the first contact with boys, so this is an improvement for me I'd say. We talked a little, and I got his phone number and email. So now we've been sending a few mails to each other. I would like to see him again (and he told Riran that he wanted to go out for dinner with me). He was very hot! His name is Shun, he likes surfing and soccer, is 20 years old, kinda tall (!), but lives in Osaka.
After they had closed Riran wanted to meet some of her friends, so we went to another club (it was free entrance). Her friends are very nice, and we danced some. But by that time I was pretty tired since it was like 06:00 in the morning, so we didn't stay for that long. Then we went back to Umeda and we both headed for our separate trains home. It was really hard to keep awake on the train. I had noone to talk to after all. I even tried to study kanji with my flashcards to keep me awake. Well, I think I went to bed at around 08:30 or something. Well spent night, even if I did get alot of blisters from wearing my high heeled boots for 12 hours in a row.
This week has also been the peak of the
Gion Matsuri. One of Japan's biggest festivals. I went to the nightstands the last two evenings, and I really love it. I also bought a
yukata that I wore last night. But more on that when I get some photos! I think
shavera will like that entry, hehe!
