fund raising

Hello guys!

I've been thinking about going to Japan to learn Japanese properly for a long time. It has always been my dream to go there. And now I have finally decided when and where. I want to stay there for a year and I have found a really nice language school in Kyoto through a Swedish agency. The school is supported by the Swedish National Board of Student Aid (CSN), meaning you get a sum of money each month for studying, and you can also take study loans. I still need quite a hefty sum of money though (as I don't really want to take big loans unless absolutely necessary). So, I'd love to take on commissions to finance this. If anyone would be willing to commission me (or recommend me to others) to help me with financing this, it would be awesome and greatly appreciated. I have about a year to collect the money (the year starts in April '08), so I have plenty of time. And I really need it, because my goal is to collect about 80000 skr (roughly $11300). I will need that money for course fees, room rent, food, plane ticket, insurance, visa, a new laptop, etc. I'm trying to get a job to finance this too of course. I don't believe money will fall from the sky. But commissions would really help, so please consider it!

Currently my commission price list look like this:
sketch: $10
bookmark (you choose the medium): $15
inked lineart: $30
lead-pencil grayscale: $45
digital colouring (of pencil lineart): $55
inked lineart and grayscale (ink pen or pencil): $55
inked lineart and aquarels (water colours): $70

If you have any opinions about the prices, please do tell me (I'm willing to negotiate)! I haven't gotten many commissions so far, so I'm thinking maybe the prices are too high, or people just don't know that they can commission me. I don't think I'm a that well-known artist. But please spread the word about me :)

I can also do pixelart commissions of course. I'm not really sure how to price them yet though. Alot of time and effort goes into pixel art even if they are small pieces.
