1. The bear might be saved by Bavarian bureaucracy: it seems he's entered aa administrative district where they have not opened the hunt yet. Someone else claims to have seem him in Austria.

The bear has vanished without a trace. Good for him. They assume he's gone back to Austria, but it would be better for him not to make it obvious he'd this bear, as the Austrians want to capture him and lock him up, too. There were more news about the bear today. First an most important: I saw a picture of the henhouse the bear was supposed to have broken into. It was more like an aviary: through the meshwire, the bear must have seen the fowl clearly, probably wildly fluttering around- food served on a silver plate... There's a wild bear in German forests! The first one for more than 150 years (the last one was shot in 1835). That's the good news. The bad news is: it will probably be as dead as it's predecessors soon: for running amoc on sheep and chicken and not being afraid of humans.
