I answered all of these questions I'd be interested to hear what all of you think about the subjects. Anyway here be my views on a few things from life the universe and everything...
Abortion: for or against?
This also falls into my none of your business category I suppose. Whereas I believe in responsibility and would never use this procedure I do not believe it is someone elses business what people do with their bodies. I have seen terrible things done to people who have had abortions. People standing outside of clincs throwing things at women trying to enter buildings, vandalizing clinics. When it comes to this situation that bothers me more than the abortion I think that like gay marriage that is a case of one individual or establishment imposing their beliefs on another.
Do you think stem cell research is unethical?
No I believe that Stem cells could advance the medical science field by leaps and bounds. Like all sciences I believe there should be parameters of course but this research could potentially save millions of lives. Where as cloning a complete individual for organs sounds terrible and I don't believe that I believe with enough research cloning organs could be possible someday. I also believe it could help with research on genetic diseases.
Will our country be ready for a female president anytime soon?
Unfortunately I do not. If Hillary Clinton had won I do not believe she would have won. Even though people polled said they would vote for a woman if they agreed with them politically less than half of the people believed that women were equally capable in some career fields. Women also on average make less money per hour in the same positions as men.
Do you believe in the death penalty?
This is a difficult question for me to answer. I believe if you take the life of another than you do not deserve to live. However I remember reading a statistic that 1 in 12 people on death row are actually innocent and I think even if there is a possibility of killing an innocent human being than it is wrong. There are other ways that a life can be forfeit in my opinion. A life of work, giving back to society. I also believe that the penal system should be changed as well. Prisoners should also be required to do more than be caged they should have to work just like a regular individual. Things like tv or internet access should never be allowed in my opinion.
Do you wish marijuana should be legalized?
I believe it is a much safer drug than cigarettes. Nicotine affects neuroreceptors in a similar way as heroine or morphine. A lot of the facts about it are inaccurate. It is less destructive to the body than most prescribed pain killers and is also damages the body less than people who are common Tylenol or aspirin pill poppers (they can be very hard on the liver and kidneys with long term use).
Are you for or against premarital sex?
I believe this is the choice of an individual. I live with my boyfriend and neither of us believe in marriage. We are not religious and so it is something that isn't for us. That said we have had our problems but have been in a long term relationship.
Do you believe in God?
I am spiritual but I do not think my belief necessarily can be construed as a belief in God. I believe suppose I believe in reincarnation in a way. Matter is converted and never destroyed so we have to go somewhere. I believe the Earth is our mother, we were created from her and go back to her to be created again.
Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes I do not think it is the business of any individual or religion to project their values on another human being. If someone was told how to make a massive decision in their own life that was against their will that would be angry. Doing this to another human being is hypocritical in my opinion.
Do you think its wrong that so many immigrants are moving to the US?
In a way yes. I have a lot of friends who have been trying to gain citizenship legally for years and the process for them has been difficult. When they passed a law making it easy for illegal immigrants to easily gain citizenship I believe they gave people the right to undermine the effort and strong perseverance that others have had. If you want to reward people who originally broke the law you are rewarding law breaking. These aren't people you want, make getting citizenship easier for everyone.
Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
I am not sure about other countries as a lot of them have different drinking ages but in America yes. If you can sign up for the military and go to war at the age of 17 or 18 I believe you should be treated as an adult.
What's your stance on environmental issues?
We have so many things on this Earth to enjoy. I believe it is the responsibility to improve or at least maintain this Earth for future generations.
Do you think our country needs a national health care system?
Other countries have it and it works. Being sick or needing medical attention should be easier for people. Good health in the long run would benefit this country immensely. I also even as a health care worker do not believe that doctors and other medical professional should become incredibly wealthy on the needs of others. National health care would also ensure that doctors and other professionals could be guaranteed a living wage wherever they go. Rural towns would have an easier time having the professionals they need.
Is education an important issue to you?
yes I just went back to school and if my boyfriend was not already done with his education and decent job I would not be able to go. I've had to work full time through most of it just to afford tuition. Education should be a right, learning a skill to make a living wage would also benefit the country. The youth would be able to study in professions we need: engineering, medical, etc.
Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
No I care enough to have my opinions on the world. Even though others would not agree with me I believe if they also care enough to have opinions than they too should be proud. Being passionate can help change the world.
