Now I remember why...

...why it is not always a good thing to revisit childhood fandoms. So, wandering about YouTube, I have rediscovered the old Legend of Zelda TV series that I used to love when I was about 5.

Things I have (re)learned upon watching the episodes, in no particular order:

-Link will always be cuter hatless, no matter what timeline it is.
-According to the intro, the Tri-Force of Courage is nonexistent in the TV show (though it appears in the comics for the same storyline)
-The Tri-Forces talk--in bad doggerel, no less. WTF.
-SpritexLink. OMGWTFWHYGODWHY. It'll never work, and yet she hits on him every other episode, it seems. O.o
-Link's signature line ("Excuuuuuse ME, Princess!") not only appears every episode, it appears more than once in every episode, including one time while plunging into a dark waterfall.
-Zelda is the most useful Zelda in the entire chronology (OoT Zelda is a close second due to Sheik), and I still can't figure out why she has to scream like a damsel in distress whenever some minion of Ganon pops up, even when she subsequently kicks ass.
-Zelda's dad is either a total moron or a total pimp. Actually, it's quite possible that he's both.
-Link DOES get kissed--just not by Zelda. Mirror Zelda, Sprite and a random minion of Ganon all get at least one in.
-Dear sweet Powers That Be, Ganon has a hideously obnoxious voice. Actually, EVERYONE has an obnoxious voice. Please tell me the cast director was shot for this.
-The sword gun. Awesome in the games, really bizarre in the show.
-The sound effects! OMG, the sound effects! From vanquishing enemies to the shrunken items returning to normal size. Just like the video game, and almost incongruous at times.
-Ganon randomly hits on Zelda. ZeldaxGanon = VERY NO.
-Link does not wear pants to bed (he wears a really short nightshirt), but apparently he has magically-appearing heart-patterned boxers.
-Bad guys never die. Evidently, upon being vanquished, they reappear in Ganon's Jar of Evil. Yes, you heard me right--he has a Jar of Evil.
-They have some things I'm surprised they let fly, considering the presumed target demographic was children, including some rather crude remarks from Link to Zelda attempting to smother a bird in Link's dirty laundry.

Wacky stuff, yo. And now I remember why only 13 episodes were made and none have aired on TV since 1993. ^_^;;
