***PLEASE READ** Special piece to be made for Japan recovery effort

I'm going to design something small and inexpensive which can be cast or made repeatedly and quickly/easily and sold (thanks karadin, for the idea). The money will go to one of the charities involved in helping Japan as it deals with the aftermath of this awful disaster. I haven't decided which charity it will be yet and I will also be working with gackt_army, so ( Read more... )

Doctors without Borders is a good one. They use virtually every cent on relief efforts. Unlike the big charities, where most of the money goes to administration.

You tell me when you're ready, and I'll be sending you that money faster than you can look!

That's such a great thing to do! <3

I really like Doctors Without Borders, I've donated to them before :) Details of the charities I'm likely to give to this time are in the post I just made with the charm in it!

Thank you so much for all your help, gackt_army will have shelterbox as one of it's charities of choice.

I think shelterbox is a great one to support, that's fine with me. I'll co-ordinate with you once I have the piece designed and the details sorted out on my end. I'm thinking of offering two charms, a simple sakura one and a shinsengumi charm.

Those sound great, though sakura are an emblem of constant renewal/loss depending on how you look at it. Here is a site on Japanese flower meanings, the forget me not is quite beautiful. Chrysanthemum is my fave but should only be used by the Imperial Family.

I am too busy to do an art piece myself, but I can certainly buy one of yours to support the cause. I will keep a look out for a post!
