Went and saw Blade II last night. Not really sure how I feel about it. It was so over the top that I had a hard time suspending disbelief enough to enjoy the fight scenes. They replaced the actors with CG animated models a few times, and it was glaringly obvious - they moved too fast and far too fluid for the human anatomy. That aside, it was an enjoyable romp, but lacking the gritty personality that the original had.
The development of an implied romantic tie between Blade and one of the bloodpack felt too contrived too.
Good movie, but not as good as the original. Worth seeing if you want to see lots and lots and lots of people/vampires getting flung about and shot/stabbed/dismembered/otherwise generally gored.
