Sometimes you just have to say no.

Nadia: [happy wriggle upon eating avocado]
Me: Are you doing the avocado dance?
Nadia: Cado! Mommy!
Me: Should I do the avocado dance?
Nadia: Yeah.
Me: Can I have some avocado?
Nadia: No.
Me: Well, I'm not going to do the avocado dance if I don't get to eat any avocado.

In other cuteness, when we came home from the co-op expecting to find Becca here and she wasn't Nadia declared the house "empty" of Mama and said she wanted "More Mama."

Also, when she was demanding a cookie on the morning after we got back from Massachusetts and I told her they were still in the car she immediately ran to the front door saying "Howt titi!" (Hug cookie) and "Out! [vigorous, serious nod]" over and over. It was so instant and emphatic and sustained that Robin and I could only stand there laughing.

Finally, in the department of "that's just wrong," she was sitting on the potty that Rose dropped off here this evening o be passed on to Shaya. She was saying Shaya's name, so I said, unthinkingly, "You can send Shaya your love with the potty." At which point she promptly turned around, stuck her face in the bowl part, and started shouting "Shaya! Shaya! Shaya!"
