Festinord Status Update
Since everyone is dying to know, I should tell you that nothing became of Unnur and the Scotsman. I think I was pushing it too hard, so James refused to go looking for his destiny. Oh well.
I had another matchmaking attempt, however. It was for a girl I know from England whose name is Naomi. I don't know her as well as I would like to, but I know her enough to realise that she's awesome. When I told her that I was playing matchmaker, she asked if she knew any nice guys I could hook her up with. After some contemplation I dragged Binni by the arm to her side. They talked for a very long time.
Naomi bumped into me again at the dance last night (quite literally), and told me: "Binni is lovely! Good choice!" Looks like I did something right.
I wore another dress Halla lent me at the 50's dance. It was her Marilyn dress, and I got dozens of compliments for it.
I didn't have a particularly good day yesterday, mainly because I was so tired, but also because of other things I don't really want to discuss publicly. I dressed up for the dance last night (the theme was black and white), but only danced to about two songs. I did play cards with some people, though (including a Danish guy who sounded very American and tried to cheat when you weren't looking), created Scandinavian lion cash and went to buy some ice cream with Jared. So I had some fun.
People were wondering why I wasn't dancing much. I told them it wasn't as much fun without Mika. Which is true. It felt kind of weird to dance by myself amidst all the couples.
I'm feeling better today. Haven't done very much yet. I have a class coming up in half an hour. I guess after that I'll go eat lunch, but I have no idea what to do next. Maybe someone will play Jenga with me.
I suspect Jared has a fangirl.
