School Days
Kristján has been telling me for a while now that School Days is an absolutely awesome anime. Today I watched it with him, expecting some utter silliness with romantic undertones, like School Rumble. The first episode promised a happy little lovestory. As the story progressed, there was more drama and angst. And then, well...
It was good. It really was. Just... in a completely different way than I expected.
When the credits rolled after the last episode, I stared at the screen, unable to talk, for a few moments. Finally I got the words together to discuss with my brother what we had seen.
Since then, I've watched some more cheerful anime, so I'm not completely shaken anymore.
But, yeah, School Days really is a good show, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. If you like angst and don't fear tragedy, you might very well like School Days. If you prefer your lovestories happy, silly and whacky, you should rather check out School Rumble.
By the way, yeah, I made it back to Iceland. :P
