And here's the last installment of Arashi's somosomo lesson c/o Matsujun. This time we had the mastermind himself get investigated by none other than Nino ^_^.
But...before we go to that, I'm gonna throw in first the Somosomo lesson before Matsujun's (07/16). I think this was in July 15, the pm event. I think it will be a waste not to include it ^_^
The somosomo that day was actually a summary of the 4's (ANOS) childhood memories (eg how they were as a child)
Note: This is not my own report, but rather a translation of reports from Japanese fan blogs. They may be some hits and misses from the actual event
Ohno: He was a child who won't calm down and listen to what we say. Soon after I told him not to grasp the lid of the Mizuyoukan, he grasped it and got five stitches. When I told him not to cross over because a car was coming, he crossed over. He was a child whose thinking I couldn't understand. J: You were a very curious child? O: Yeah, yeah J: It seems you had many episodes of injury Sho: When he was five years old, we had a fight in Shibuya and I left him behind. He wasn't crying and was walking with sharp eyes towards me. Since then, he was the type who can make judgments and act by himself. J: Can a five-year-old boy walk home alone? S: I thought that a parent would never go home leaving such a small child behind. J: Amazing. Were you able to go home? S: In the end, it turned out she went home leaving me behind. I walked home alone. J: Your mother looked for you. She thought of picking you up. S: At the last intersection at Mizuho Bank...I wasn't familiar with the place so I had no idea, but in the end, I was able to go home by walking for 40~ 50 minutes. While walking. I'd seen all the buses passing by me. And so I spotted my mother riding a bus. I thought "She gave up" J: A five-year old child gets anxious riding a train even with their parents, right? O: And as a five-year-old, you even had that sharp look J: He had that young Sakurai behavior Aiba: He was very shy of strangers. He had a timid personality. (So) when he magnificently did a recital, even us, his parents, were surprised! S: I don't remember talking to you when we were Juniors. You were shy of strangers, right? J: What kind of recital was it? A: I never told anyone but I used to play the piano N: Was that really a piano? A: It was a piano! S: There was indeed a piano in your house A: I played it when I was in primary school. I performed many times. I even wore a bow tie O: Then can you (still) play it? A: That was enough, right? After that, I had a swimming performance J: Performance? S: Let me confirm, was that swimming, a synchronized swimming? Nino: He was a timid child, so whenever we line up for a jet coaster ride, he would complain of stomach ache. When he just entered the nursery, he was nervous so he would sing in his sleep "Poppoppo hatopoppo" S: Are you still not good (with jet coasters)? N: Probably. My stomach would ache immediately. I was also nervous, embarrassed, it was a moment I hated A: Your stomach's all good, right? N: My stomach would ache whenever I eat expensive food S: But you know, even though Matsujun's version isn't told yet, there's a boy who would make a sharp look, a boy who would grip a Mizuyoukan's lid, a boy shy of strangers and a boy who would get a stomach ache. Makes us all the same, right? ?: So true O: I'm a kid who cannot be understood
They had a little quiz about Nino
[Spoiler (click to open)] Nino borrowed the farewell party invitation from his mother when he was in 6th grade. His mother was really impressed that he took a picture of it.
Q: What did he say (or wrote) to his mother?
S: "Ah, this is not goodbye, because we will see each other again" (from Typhoon Generation) J: This was before we released that song N: I got, I think it's...
(Nino whispered something to J) J: You're in the right direction. It's something Nino will say in variety shows nowadays A: "We will have a farewell party, how about coming to it?" J: Close! O: "We will have a farewell party but it doesn't matter if you come" J: He wouldn't say something that cold, right?
The answer: COME
*lol*
(Nino got flustered)
N: Scary~ S: That was the best. You had the trait of a domineering husband. J: It had such a big impact that she couldn't throw it away O: Nothing changed, since then and even now N: I was really a child. I'm really thankful that she kept even something like this.
Now here's Matsujun's "somosomo" ^_^
from 07.16.2012 event
Nino disappeared from his seat when Jun started his lesson J: We're starting now...
N: Excuse me...I also have one 'origin' lesson. *to Matsujun* Take your seat. Nino replaced J for the somosomo lesson
N: You know this is...very Matsumoto Jun.
Q: Do you remember when your son was born? A: It was 2 weeks past the expected time of delivery. If that continued to get delayed, it might get dangerous for both of us, so I gave birth to him through Caessarian section. A healthy boy weighing 3584g was born. I was really thankful that he came out safely.
N: J, you won't come out at all! S: He won't come out to the hallway (of a hotel) when we're supposed to meet during our tour!
(Though Matsujun knew his birth weight, this is the first time he heard details of his mom's pregnancy)
Q: How did you come up with his name? A: My grandmother wanted to name him Jun with the character 純 (pure/genuine), but I found it hard to write the kanji when I was young, so my mother hoped for the 潤 (moist/richness) character instead
J: I heard that there was this sake "Jun" (純) in our home for a long time, so they chose that name.
Q: The reason for his name? A: "潤" means someone who's blessed and rich. And I also wanted him to be a person who shower people with richness/warmth.
S: That's why you were chosen for that tissue CM J: I thought "Finally!" (when that CM was decided) (Note: I think Jun's mom means 潤 = richness/profit rather than moist. Sho meant the 'moist/wet' meaning of 潤 thus he mentioned something about that tissue ad)
Q: What kind of child was he? A: He was influenced by his cousin when he was 4 or 5 years old to listen to his favorite music in a walkman 4: !! O: Cool~
A: He had a delicate skin. Once he got bitten by a mosquito, he would get wheals and fever. Whenever he went out to play or had a baseball training camp, I'd let him carry a mini ultrasonic insect repellent.
J: I remember this. During Kindaichi, since we went to many locations and it was summer, there were many places with mosquitoes. I used that during filming. And, the sound man got angry because the noise (of the mini insect repellent) would get included (in the filming). When he said "Who's that?!", I just said "It's me."
Memorial item c/o Matsujun's mom: His report card during his 4th year in grade school
N: As expected of J, most of his marks are "A"
1st semester: His comprehension is outstanding. 2nd semester: He listens well, he expresses his thoughts well 3rd semester: He's also very good with songs and instruments N: You were in a table tennis club, right? S: Really?! N: He improved until his group became the champion N: But, there's one thing. He seemed to be bad at drawing and manual arts
Enter Matsujun's kindergarten's art collection A sunflower (with stem and a leaf) was drawn on a white drawing paper. At the center of the sunflower, "My drawings" is written
N: Let's have a quiz. If you get it, I'll give the picture to you NOTE: These are not Matsujun's drawings, but rather the sketch made by a fan. As taking pictures must had not been allowed, I didn't find the real Matsujun's arts. Well, these must be closest to the original arts, as they were originally done by a kindergarten after all ^_^
1st picture:
S: Dog A: Fireworks O: Carp streamer J: pool
[the correct answer is...] N: In Dad's car when we went to Grandma's house *Note that under the drawing, the "4 dots" were labeled, eg the green pen
LOL
N: Let's feel Matsumoto Jun!
2nd picture:
A: Listening to my favorite song in my walkman while waiting for the Ferris wheel in an amusement park S: Looking at the Ferris Wheel in an amusement park (one source states "watching a hero show at the amusement park") O: Watching the scenery from my home as I listen to my walkman J: *no idea* [correct answer] N: "When I play Super Mario 3"
LOOL
3rd picture
A: You suddenly became good at drawing!
A: A: Scattering beans on Setsubun (another source states "Matsujun and Matsujun's sister scattering beans") S: A namahage who appeared before Matsujun and his sister O: At the zoo...the middle one is a giraffe J: Scattering beans at the kindergarten
[correct answer] N: Eh~ That one in the middle looks like a demon, right? "It's Itou-sensei" (lol) The answer is "Scattering beans at the kindergarten" J: She's the teacher who calls me by name "Jun"
(Itou-sensei: Matsujun's first love, and when Matsujun thought he's her favorite, she called him by his name because her boyfriend's name was also Jun ^_^. Btw, I think that "Itou-sensei" in Matsujun's art was posing as a namahage that's why they were scattering beans. Otherwise, it looked so wrong to draw a woman like that xD)
4th picture:
A: Decorating the Christmas tree S: Itou-sensei during Christmas Eve O: A spirit photography taken during the Christmas Eve J: Drawing the Christmas tree in our home[correct answer]
N: "Looking at the Christmas tree" J: It seems (Itou)sensei wrote a comment about that S: Did you meet with Itou-sensei when you became Arashi? J: She went to watch our concert once some years ago
N: Er... this is "When Dad was picking cherries". At the upper right side, there was a seal saying "63.6.10" (Note it's Showa 63)
N: The other one is (also)..."When Dad was picking cherries". "63.6.23" (lol)O: He went twice? J: Probably just once S: Your father wore a striking outfit!
N: Young Jun drew the same picture many times (lol) J: I don't remember we went out to pick cherries
N: There's also a picture entitled "Going out with my sister", but in this, your father went out alone (lol). You split your one memory into two weeks (lol)
Last picture: A black zigzag on top, from left to right On the left side is a blue square, underneath is a brown square At the center is a violet triangle, underneath is a brown square On the right is a green circle, underneath is a brown square
Caption on top of each picture "Grilling a square" "Grilling a triangle" "Grilling a circle"
N: Grilling what? (lol) J: My ideas are weird...very mysterious A: Aren't you doing a barbecue?
(5 more arts were passed around the members)
N: I can enjoy looking at these for 2 hours
J: *to Nino* Thank you N: Do not mention it
J: E~ I've done the members' "origins" until now, and today, mine was done. I deeply felt the so-called "parent's love". I thought that I should at least treasure myself.
Last words from Matsujun: A baby isn't born easily. For this reason they are precious. From the time we were born, and even the time we were named, we are preciously loved all the time. I felt that myself. Having known my "origins", I want to cherish it more. And, having known the origins of the people around me, I want to be kinder to them.
Thinking about where you came from makes you want to cherish everything.

And that ends Matsujun's Somosomo lesson. It may be impossible but I wish they will document all the members' versions on DVD >.< so that Matsujun's kindergarten arts will always be remembered :D
