BREAD
Has it really been a month since I posted last?! Where does the time go? So much to tell...
I got a "promotion" at work. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted (at this job, not overall life goal!) I am currently in training, and it's going well. I actually kind of like it. And it's been fun at work lately. Love my girls!!
Frank's birthday came and went, we went out to dinner and had a grand time, but we always do when we are out with the Bradys. <3
I planted a bunch of herbs and spinach in pots on my living room table, and they're growing like little crazies, which surprised and delighted me!!
I made my first batch of bread dough from "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day." Haven't baked any off yet, but I will post a picture when I do!! As I was checking on my bread dough's progress in rising, I had this tardy bread revelation. Bread is just flour, water, and yeast. And salt. But really THINK about that. The essence of bread is 3 cheap, common, simple ingredients. I get some kind of ridiculous carnal joy from realizing something is so simple and obvious. And from making things myself that others are petrified of. I haven't actually baked the bread yet, but I can't wait to! [As if on purpose, while I type this bread revelation, The Hallelujah Chorus came on. Ha!] I can absolutely understand how we got to this point, where home baked bread is rare to come across, and not knowing where your food comes from, but I can't wait to lose that feeling! Frank got a good laugh out of me saying "Yeast is SO badass!! I mean, look what it can do to flour and water!" I got a good laugh out of Frank leaning over my dough in it's container and saying "hello bread!" like greeting a newborn in a crib for the first time. But I guess this is my baby...
I am so full of joy lately. I don't know if it's a coincidence or part of why I'm feeling so swell, but there has been so much good music surrounding me lately! Last night was a flashback to fall of 2003, I heard Something Corporate and the Ataris and BackStreet Boys and Surfin Bird. It was glorious!! Even as I type this, listening to the tunes on my iPhone, I've just been rocking out because every song makes me happier than the last! I realize that I put the music on my iPhone, so I should like it, but it's awesome when it randomly comes on. A delightful blend of classical favorites, rap, old jams of mine, Jason Mraz...I just don't think I could be happier right now!
In other news, Super Paper Mario for Wii is awesome. I luuuuuuuuuuurve it. :)
Maybe I shouldn't have pounded two cups of chai, for now I am all kinds of awake and productive!! It's past my bed time...(9:30 pm)...WHOOOOOOOOOO!
