I think, that almost everyone on my FList should go and join Heavenly_dorks! -- Though I know a great amount of you are already on there ^_^!! I know I have Promoted my community many times in my journal, but that isn't going to stop me now! I really do think a lot of you would really enjoy it there. It isn't like all the million other rating communities out there. It is not based on looks. We frown on anyone who lets someone in because they are Sexy or cute. We want to have fun people, DORKS! We all have fun in there, with many contests and themes. -- Here are some testomonials a few members have wrote. ---

"I've been a member since it was a rather fledgling community- whereas 5 people voted on my admittance, and it was an unanimous vote for yes.
After being a veteran applicant to many rating communities on livejournal, I can say with my experience that this is one of the most innovative and active communities with the friendliest and most enthusiastic and kind-hearted folks you'll meet.
- Angsty, antisocial, and generally stupid people need not apply!
- The mods have always been very amiable and understanding of every single one of their members and are always finding ways to make heavenly_dorks a better place.
- The mods have molded this community into a safe haven for all the "nice people" who apply to cut-throat rating communities who aren't accepted over superficial matters of attractiveness or because the issue of politics became a deciding factor. Fortunately, acceptance into this circle of friends involves one's personality and interests over matters of personal idealogy and prejudice.
Any negative things written about this place is written by unhappy folk jealous of our prosperity and happiness that we obtain from having an absolute ball with each other." -- mynameisrobyn

"I'd say this community is less about rating and more about filtering. In looks rating communities, for example, particularly ones that have vote-offs, there is no incentive for people to be kind and objective, even if they have an accompanying set of 'application questions.' Additionally, members in those types seem to enjoy the catharsis of picking people apart and exposing their faults. The distinction here is that we are looking for similar *people*, which is why I use the word 'filter.' In real life there is a similar sorting process; I congregate with people who I feel I fit in with, and with whom I might have an enjoyable time. People don't generally hang around people when doing so will provide little or no benefit to themselves. The situation here is similar, except that since it is an online community, much of the real life ambiguity is done away with because we can ask what we want to know and see what we want to see right up front. It may seem harsh, but in the end, it saves a lot of trouble. How many times have we joined communities, rated or not, that after a short while proved to be a disappointment. Heavenly dorks does what it says on the tin, and if we like what's written on your tin, then you will be welcomed here. If not, then there probably isn't much that we can provide each other, so all the better that we not waste each other's time, don't you think?" -- Elly_ah
