Already today I've knocked out two enormous problems, had a friendly and useful meeting, acted to prevent a major disaster, fixed a minor one, and done a small pile of fiddly bits of work. Productive doesn't even begin to describe it.

It's a good day. :-)

ETA: And of course today--which was known to be awful--is significantly worse within ten minutes of getting to work.

I called a meeting. Everybody was engaged, and we are now all on the same page and have a plan for dealing with the oncoming problems.

Yes, that's right, a productive meeting. For all the other random crap, I still declare victory over today.

A job that lets me occasionally just take the day off.

ETA: Every time I think "Hey, this isn't so bad-- I could totally have worked today," one of two things happens: either I try and stand up and flail comically while almost overbalancing myself, or I end up taking an unintentional nap.

Can be over aaaaaany time. It certainly doesn't have to wait on me.
