Black Lion Emprise VIII
A great weekend! Arrived at the ranch in Kent for the Black Lion Emprise at 8:30 on Friday night. Got the horses settled. Set up our fancy living quarters for the evening (the horse trailer makes a cozy RV). Made a crest in the aisleway of the stable whilst waiting for Drifa and Cyriac to show up. Feather boas and pipe cleaners ROCK!
Had fun on Saturday. Tiernan placed 7th out of 17- Not bad for a newbie and for a guy that doesn't really ride or ever practice! He looked so very cool in his armor riding on Hondo!
I placed 4th- not at the top of my game- missed a pig during the pig spearing, knocked a hoop off during the birjas (run at a gallop and throw a javelin through a small hoop atop a post and catch on the other side without knocking the hoop off), and dropped the javelin after getting it through the hoop and catching it. Urgh. However, did fairly well on the rings (tied for first in that one). Did okay on the reeds. But, it was just wonderful seeing everyone do well and turn out in their finest trappings. One more horsey event this coming weekend at Last Chance in Dragon's Laire.
Hit the zoo with the wee lads on Sunday while Todd went paintballing. A great weekend!
So funny- at the zoo. The best part for the boys is playing on the tractor.
