Work sucks, how about you?

I have worked at a very small (think 10 people or less) insurance agency (not the actual insurance company) for about a year. I started as a receptionist and then they offered to send me to school to get an insurance license and become an agent. I say "ok" and do it. That was in December. Well, just recently I have really been doing more insurance things, but not really what I want (I want to do more auto, they want me to do more homeowners and commercial) A month or two ago, the man that ran our commercial division got fired because he wasn't doing anything. He was replaced by a short squishy man named Steve, who has dark hair and horrible circles under his eyes. He's one of those guys who has glasses, but when you talk to him, he looks over them to look at you. Well, recently our company has been switched a little in a crazy way. I know have to think of Steve as my "boss". He is the first person who has ever complained about anything I have done in this company since I have started working.

First, there was a certain thing Steve wanted quoted. I did it for him. Then he tells me he wants the name of the company changed. My mistake being that I double typed a word in there, he told me that I needed to fix it. Yeah, ok. I made a mistake, I fixed it. You wouldn't think it was the end of the world. He also asks me to enter something into the computer for him, which I do, as I do everything else that needs to be entered in.

Then, because of a lots of tiring details about my car (texas car, I live in New Jersey)I had to get the title switched. I went before work and it took a little while. Turns out, there was a problem with my title. I have to call my mom and get the right papers. Monday, I went back in the morning. I also CALLED WORK AT 9:00AM TO TELL SARAH, OUR RECEPTIONIST THAT I WOULD BE OUT. I finally got it done, and got to work. When I got to work Steve asked me if it all worked out. Nothing wrong there, hmm?

Well, on Tuesday I get called into the confrence room with Bill (president, main boss man) and Steve. The meeting pretty goes like this:

Bill: You know that we are a small company and we are all trying to get as much work done as possible.
Me: Yes...
Bill: Well, you've been making some mistakes and we don't have enough time for people to check over your stuff to make sure it was done right *looking over to Steve* You did something for him and the name was wrong?
Steve: Yes. It was suppost to be Associated Auctioneers...
Bill: And you had to redo it. And then when you entered in *other company* you put it in wrong.
Steve: Tony realized that you put in *this is where it gets fuzzy because he never came to me about messing anything up here and so I didn't know what information I entered in wrong* and Tony is looking over other things to make sure you didn't mess anything else up.
Me: I'm sorry, I apologize for making some mistakes...
Bill: *suggest something like writing down instructions in a notepad or something* And then, back again to that we don't have a lot of people....you were at the DMV yesterday?
Me: Yes...
Bill: Well, you need to tell Steve where you are. Steve is your boss and you need to let him know.
Me: I called at 9:00 and told Sarah I would be there.
Steve: I didn't know where you were until later...*blah blah, he wasn't really making much sense and I was already too angry at that moment to listen to him*
Bill: Well, you should call....
Me: I did call. I called at 9. I told Sarah.
Steve: Well, you were gone for a couple hours. Thats time lost, and no one knew you were gone, so we couldn't prepare ourselves.
Me: Ok, I apologize....

The meeting pretty much ends, and I walk out on the verge of tears. If Steve is my "boss" couldn't he just come to me and say those things? On Monday he didn't seem to have a problem with anything and talked to me like nothing was wrong. And then about the mistakes...2?? My god. I have never been more unhappy than I have been then this week of work. Grr.

in other news, Marc has agreed that tomorrow (Saturday) is our day, therefore no VS. gaming allowed. It's about time, honestly. As much as I tell him "No vs. this weekend" we always seem to be going to some store and him playing while I crochet and watch movies.

I am staying at his house this weekend because his dad is away. that means a weekend without...Katamary Damacy. Oh lord, I am addicted to that game. I have beaten it...but I REALLY NEED TO BEAT IT. You know, when you have every item, and you have all the extra things.

katamary damacy, work, crochet, stress, vs
