So, we did our anti-sleepiness experiment this weekend.
This is how we hammered out the meds:
Upon wake up:
Trileptal
Wellbutrin
Risperdone
Mid-afternoon:
2nd dose of Trileptal
2nd dose of Risperdone
1st dose of Clonidine (.1 mg)
Evening (after dinner)
2nd dose of clonidine (.1 mg)
At bed:
Seroquel (25 mg)
Bean said he felt better, less tired. I noticed he was much more amp'd up during the day. I'm guessing changing the Wellbutrin to first thing in the a.m. was a primary factor in that. His last go-round with Wellbutrin (he was 9 years old) it turned him into a Zombie. So, this speaks to the fact -- perhaps -- that he's in puberty now and that his body has changed chemically. We also took out one of the clonidine doses.
This week will be the test at school. Hopefully, we'll see improvements in reports from his instructors. We have another med management appointment on the 16th, so I should have lots of info for the doctor. I'm beginning to wonder if his Trileptal dose should be decreased somewhat now that he's on the Wellbutrin.
I say again, without the meds his life is brutally hard; but, I'm constantly aware that he's on _a lot_ of meds now. it's quite the cocktail. this weekend he did seem to be very cognizant of how the meds affect him and his general attitude was that he didn't want to go back to life with out his 'balancing drugs' as he calls them.
Thanks to all those who offered insight and comment to help us examine this.
I know it will be a non-stop battle to keep his meds in check with his changing/growing body.
