For the May prompt on
fst - "If Your OTP Was A Musical." And the idea of this one was too diabolical to deny. Also pretty incredibly terrible. Expect more DoL media in the future, a good bit of it probably along these lines. This relationship fascinates me in an absolutely awful kind of way. I think I may have problems.
.ZIP DOWNLOAD HERE. Macavity - Cats
Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity
He's a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity
You may meet him in a by-street, you may see him in the square
But when a crime's discovered then Macavity's not there!
Because every musical needs an introduction song. Here's Malkar's, proclaiming THIS IS EVIL across the stage. Loudly.
Be Prepared - The Lion King
The future is littered with prizes
And though I'm the main addressee
The point that I must emphasize is
You won't get a sniff without me!
So prepare for the coup of the century
In the Dark of the Night - Anastasia
Come my minions,
Rise for your master,
Let your evil shine!
Find her now,
Yes, fly ever faster
For your musical dose of campy evil, Malkar introduces himself. Just so you really know he's Evil.
Downtown (Skid Row) - Little Shop of Horrors
Downtown
Where the folks are broke.
Downtown
Where your life's a joke.
Downtown
When you buy your token,
you go
Home to skid row.
Our hero's home is introduced - the Lower City in all its glory.
The Phantom of the Opera - The Phantom of the Opera
Sing once again with me
Our strange duet
My power over you
Grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me
to glance behind
The phantom of the opera is there
Inside your mind
Oh look! Creepy controlling relationship! Does this sound like anyone we know? And so eighties. Can you see Felix in the eighties? I can.
It's A Dangerous Game - Jekyll and Hyde
I feel your fingers -
Cold on my shoulder -
Your chilling touch,
As it runs down my spine -
Watching your eyes
As they invade my soul -
Forbidden pleasures
I'm afraid to make mine.
Has Felix's attraction to Malkar written all over it.
Don't Be the Bunny - Urinetown
A little bunny in the meadow
Is nibbling grass without a care
He's so delightful as he hops for you
You say, "Hi, bunny"
And he stops for you
You pull your trigger
And he drops for you
Sounds like the kind of advice Malkar might offer, doesn't it? But not quite as much as...
Razzle Dazzle - Chicago
Give 'em the old razzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act with lots of flash in it
And the reaction will be passionate
Give 'em the old hocus pocus
Bead and feather 'em
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?
"You can almost pass for respectable."
Learn to Do It - Anastasia
If I can learn to do it, you can learn to do it.
Something in you knows it --
There's nothing to it!
Follow in my footsteps, shoe by shoe!
You can learn to do it too!
This is where it starts getting terrible. Just as an 'or else' on the end of that, though, and you have Felix's education spot on.
Angel of Music - Phantom of the Opera
Angel of music
Guide and guardian
Grant to me your glory
...I think I'll let this one pass without comment. I really don't have anything respectable to say.
Why Can't You Behave? - Kiss Me, Kate
Why can't you behave?
Oh, why can't you behave?
After all the things you told me
And the promises that you gave,
Oh, why can't you behave?
Why can't you be good?
This is what I mean by 'terrible.' Isn't this just the kind of thing Malkar would say, exasperated with Felix failing to do what he's supposed to? Of course it is. Don't argue with me.
I'll Make a Man Out of You - Mulan
Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within
Once you find your center
you are sure to win
You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow I'll make a man out of you
As does this. Because Malkar is Danny Osmond, clearly.
You'll Never Get Away From Me - Gypsy
I couldn't get away from you,
even if you told me to,
so go on and try.
Just try and you're gonna see
how you're gonna not at all
get away from me.
...*coughs*
The Point of No Return - Phantom of the Opera
Past the point of no return - no backward glances:
the games we've played till now are at an end . . .
Past all thought of "if" or "when" -
no use resisting:
abandon thought,
and let the dream descend . . .
Okay, so there's a lot of Phantom of the Opera on this. What of it? Malkar style seduction, a la "you've never been able to say no to me."
As Long as You're Mine - Wicked
And just for this moment
As long as you're mine
I've lost all resistance
And crossed some border line
And if it turns out
It's over too fast
I'll make every last moment last
As long as you're mine
I'm going to pretend I'm not responsible for this one.
Ever After - bare
So much for my ever after?
You can't be the same boy I followed...thought I'd always follow
You've hurt me more than you know
All that I wanted was you, you were my tomorrow...
"And the next day, when I tried to talk to Malkar about it, he just said, 'Don't make a melodrama out of it, dearest. It's not worth it for a molly-toy like you.' And I felt... It wasn't about the sex. It was the betrayal, the way he didn't even bother to lie to me."
