Chapter 2: Ignored.
Sungmin sat in his bed, staring at his cellphone. He wanted to call Kyuhyun, but then again, he said that it was annoying.
He let out a sigh and set his phone down on his bed. "I guess...I have been calling him too much lately. I should just stop contacting him, then..."
Sungmin got off his bed and went downstairs. "Mom!"
Sungmin's mom was sitting in the living room, watching TV. "Yea?"
"Mom, can you cancel my cellphone?"
Sungmin's mom looked at him with a surprised face. "What? Why?"
"...um, well, I don't feel like using it anymore. So, can you take my cellphone back tomorrow?" Sungmin asked.
"I guess. Are you sure?"
Sungmin nodded and ran back upstairs before his mom replied. He went into his bedroom and closed the door.
"There. Now I can't call him anymore."
-.-.-.-
The next day came quickly.
Sungmin fluttered his eyes open and reached to the side to grab his phone...then he remembered that he had asked his mom to return it to the store.
He sat up and looked at the time, realizing that it was already 7:35.
"Shit!" Sungmin cussed and quickly got up to get ready.
He took a quick shower, put on a pair of skinny jeans, a black wifebeater, a white cardigan, and quickly put on his black sneakers. He brushed his hair slightly, grabbed his school bag, and ran downstairs.
No one was downstairs, but there was a small toast set in kitchen. Sungmin quickly grabbed a piece and shoved it in his mouth before running out the door.
"My gosh! I'm gonna be late!" He muttered with his mouth full.
He nearly shrieked when someone grasped his arm and pulled his back. He turned his head to see Kyuhyun.
"Wow. You look terrible..." Kyuhyun laughed.
"Shut up...I woke up late." Sungmin mumbled and swallowed his food.
"Me too...I was too lazy to wake up. And how did you wake up late? You usually wake up early and come over to my house so we can walk together." Kyuhyun yawned.
Sungmin used his phone as an alarm, so since he didn't have it anymore, he woke up late...but he certaintly wouldn't tell him that. "Uh...I didn't set my alarm yesterday night." He lied.
"I see...and what's with your hair?" Kyuhyun stopped walking and pulled Sungmin closer to him.
He softly brushed some bangs away from his eyes, tucked them nicely on the side, and ran his fingers down his ends to untangle a few strands.
Sungmin blushed at the gentle gesture.
"There you go. Better." Kyuhyun smiled and began walking again. Sungmin stood there for a few moments, staring at his back. '...he didn't even ask why I didn't call him last night."
-.-.-.-
During lunch break, Sungmin sat in his desk, with his stomach growling.
"You're not eating?" Heechul asked.
"I was in a rush this morning, so I didn't have time to make lunch. I don't have any money to buy something either..."
Sungmin groaned.
"You wanna share?" Heechul took out his bento box and opened it.
"No, it's ok." Sungmin shook his head.
"You sure?" Heechul urged on.
Sungmin nodded.
"Oook, if you say so. Oh! And I texted you last night...I needed help on my homework, but you didn't reply back." Heechul glared at him.
"About that...I don't have a phone anymore." Sungmin muttered.
"What? Why not?" Heechul gaped.
"Yesterday when I was walking home with Kyuhyun, he said I was annoying and I called him too much. I really don't wanna be a burden to him, so I decided to cancel my phone." Sungmin explained and let out a sigh.
"Ugh, he's such a jerk. Sungmin, I don't get why you're still with him! I mean, he flirts with other girls, he goes out with his guyfriends way too much, and he doesn't even seem like he likes you that much. Seriously, you should just break up with him," Heechul rolled his eyes.
Sungmin just shook his head again.
"Why won't you? If I were you, I would've dumped him a long time ago. Everyone in this school even agrees that you should breakup with him." Heechul said while stuffing some rice in his mouth.
"Well, I love him, ok?" Sungmin replied straightforwardly and got up.
"Where are you going?" Heechul mumbled with his mouth full.
"To find Kyuhyun. He's probably talking to a girl right now." Sungmin sighed and left the classroom.
He walked through the hallway and looked outside to see if Kyuhyun was sitting on the benches. He spotted him walking with his best friends, Eunhyuk and Siwon.
He was about to walk over to them, but stopped when a few girls came up to Kyuhyun. He felt a slight pain in his chest when Kyuhyun smiled and laughed with them. Although he's used to seeing Kyuhyun flirt with other girls everyday, it would still hurt no matter how many times he saw it.
Honestly, he always felt like crying whenever he saw Kyuhyun with another girl or boy, but he will definitely not let his tears drop.
"Hey Sungmin."
Sungmin was torn from his thoughts and nearly jumped at the husky voice. He turned around to see Yesung standing there. Yesung was his friend ever since the 4th grade.
"Hey Yesung." He greeted and flashed a smile at him.
Yesung glanced over at Kyuhyun and glared slightly. "I still don't know why you choose him out of all guys."
"He's not a bad person. He's just a playboy-kind-of-person...he's really sweet at times." Sungmin defended.
"He's not a bad person? Then why does he choose to hangout with those girls instead of you? You're his boyfriend, not them," Yesung scoffed at him helplessness.
"I'm used to it, so it's ok..." Sungmin shrugged.
Yesung didn't know why Sugnmin did that. He always pretended that everything was ok. No matter how much Kyuhyun hurts him, he would always stand up for him, and he still loves him. Yesung didn't know how he was so strong. He couldn't understand why he still held onto his hopes about Kyuhyun. "Come on. Walk with me. You look pathetic just standing there, looking at him." He smirked and took his hand.
Sungmin blushed at the sudden contact. Although they were childhood friends, he was never comfortable with any physical contact with Yesung. He was usually quiet and kept to himself.
Yesung noticed his hand was stiff, so he let go. "Sorry."
"Ah...it's ok." Sungmin smiled reassuringly at him.
No doubt, he knew that he had strong feelings for Yesung over the developing years, and he knew that he had strong feelings for himself, too; that's why they were so shy around each other at times. But he also knew that it wasn't strong enough for him to like Yesung.
-.-.-
The day passed by agonizingly slow for Sungmin. When the bell finally rang for dismissal, he packed up his books and walked over to Kyuhyun's desk.
"We're going to karoake, right?" He asked.
"Yep. Hyukjae just texted me...they're waiting for us outside by the gates." Kyuhyun replied and stuffed his phone back in his pocket.
Sungmin didn't know how his day would get any worse. When he and Kyuhyun reached the gate, he saw a few girls that usually flirted with Kyuhyun. 'Kyuhyun probably invited them to come...' Sungmin thought and glanced over at Kyuhyun.
He smiled at the girls and winked at them.
Sungmin felt like yelling at him, but he kept quiet. It's ok...he's always like this anyways.
When they were walking to the karaoke bar, Kyuhyun barely paid attention to him.
Heechul nudged at Sungmin. "...why aren't you scolding him like you usually do?" He whispered.
"It's alright...he's just talking with them." Sungmin shrugged it off.
"What is wrong with you? They're just talking? Just look at them! They're giggling and they're all over Kyuhyun! How can you just stand here behind them and stay quiet?" Heechul stared at him in disbelief.
"Hechul, don't make a big deal out of it. Kyuhyun said I was too clingy, anyways, so I'll give him his space." Sungmin sighed.
"Ugh...I just don't get you." Heehcul shook his head.
Sungmin stared at Kyuhyun talking with the other girls. Even though he was the one that invited him, even though he said that he'll hangout with him, he wasn't even paying attention to him. He completely ignored him. Sungmin clenched his fists tightly...he could feel his tears coming. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. He didn't want to cry in front of all of them. 'Kyuhyun...you stupid jerk.'
Heechul glanced at him and noticed his eyes were a bit glossy. Was he going to cry? Heechul had never seen Sungmin cry before. He glared over at Kyuhyun, who was happily chirping away with those ugly bunch of sluts. 'Asshole. If he ever makes Sungmin cry, I'll beat the living shit out of him.'
Heechul put a hand on Sungmin's shoulder and squeezed it tightly. "You'll be ok?" He asked quietly.
"Oh...o...of course." Sungmin stuttered and faked a smile at Heechul. He looked ahead and saw that they were in front of the karaoke bar. He really didn't feel like going with them anymore.
Sungmin stopped walking. "Actually, Chul-ah...I think I'm just gonna go home. Kyuhyun probably won't notice..." He could see that Kyuhyun was already walking ahead, busy talking to his friends and those girls. "...tell them that I have homework to do, ok?"
"Alright, then. If you need anything or if you want someone to talk to, call me on your house phone, ok?" Heechul gave him a small hug.
"Yea, thanks Heechul." Sungmin nodded and turned around, walking away from the group.
Heechul sadly watched him go for a few moments before catching up with Kyuhyun and the others.
