friday and saturday were street scene here in san diego (www.street-scene.com)
amazing.
friday afternoon started drinking fairly early as to circumvent paying lots of money at the festival for beer. we had to return reids rental car and pick up the audi from the service place before it closed and that took fucking forever, they really waited til like the very last second to tell him his car was ready, so we ended up missing three bands i wanted to see, but its ok. it took so long i basically didnt even have a buzz giong by the time that we got to street scene. walk in, watch the new pornographers play for a minute, then head over to the microbrew festival which i thought was the beer garden basically the whole weekend but was not. drink a beer called asylum that SUCKED it tasted like bananas and gasoline god it was awful. you bought these tickets, you get 7 beer samples for 10 bucks which isnt bad i guess. drank a great ipa from lagunitas, and then basically sierra nevadas anniversary ale the rest o the night. the best part was i could hear tv on the radio from the little parking lot we were in, so i didnt even end up missing them which was great. went over to see spoon, they were great except they played too much from the new album and not enoguh old stuff but thats just my opinion. then vampire weekend, they were really fantastic, so energetic and cute and they played really well. was tired by this time didnt care about beck so we went home.
saturday woke up late, hung out, had breakfast, basically did nothing, went to the gym. then it was time to start getting ready again. went back down got great parking, thought i had lost reid he got out of the car to pay the attendant and then was gone for like 15 minutes of cousre didnt bring his phone. i thought he had been stolen. came back, walked down, everything was great. we drank some malt liquor (yuck) and then both felt pretty crazy. nightmarchers were fun, i have never heard of them before. then the NATIONAL GOD they were good, we were so close and they were absolutely the best part of the whole weekend. i've never seen them ebfore and they're prob my favorite band so tat really worked out nicely for me. i loved it. i loved it! then devo, which surprisingly i really enjoyed. except for the end, buddy boy that was fucking so weird.
all in all great great weekend.
