Spike was always complaining about how there was something wrong with Buffy, that she came back wrong. Sure, he bitched and moaned about how Willow screwed up, how their karma was royally fucked up for messing with the reaper, but Clem knew that deep down, Spike was worried.
But after the little incident at Buffy’s party, Clem can’t help but wonder if he’s concerned about the wrong Summers sibling.
He asks Dawn if she wants to go see the newest Matt Damon flick. She says no of course, but Clem, well, he can rest a little easier knowing he tried.
