long needed update
So I'm officially 30 now and I'm quite happy about that. When people say, oh I wish I were 21 I'm assuming they mean they want to "look" young. I mean honestly, I'm SO GLAD I'm 30 now. If hopping from shitty job to shitty job and having pathetic paychecks is a great time of your life then by all means, live it up. But I feel much more content in the knowledge I have now that I so obviously didn't have back then. Brad Pitt was right: "I'll take wisdom over youth any day."
My 20's weren't all negative though. I got to travel a lot and see places I never thought I would see. I have to thank Fred in particular for opening my eyes to camping although to this day I'm only camping if flush toilets are available at the campsite. I can honestly say I'm living out my lifelong dream of seeing the world, even on a small income. I still have a lot of places to see, but I am taking it one trip at a time.
My cousin is flying out here from Montreal for my brother's wedding, yay!!! She's from Vancouver originally but currently lives in Montreal. I don't think I've seen her in over 5 years! So I guess in a way it'll be a reunion of sorts. This tends to happen during weddings and funerals as many of you are probably familiar with. It's too bad I can't get any time off work to show her around but I'll make the most of my time with her as soon as I get off work.
My sister is 21 today. 21 seems like ages ago! I bought her a great gift at Nordstrom. Unfortunately I can't call her because it looks like I lost my damn cell phone. The last known time I had it was in the cab on our way home last night. Argh! :(
