Shouldn't have posted good news... the wind and currents immediately both picked up and the 2nd mate actually had to get the Captain out of bed for help. From our track it is easy to see why he's the Captain. His ability to steer in adverse conditions is far superior to anyone else's. Today, we learned how to put out chemical fires with foam fire extinguishers. We had on coveralls, a hood, safety glasses, fire proof gloves and hardhats. Then we put out an "electrical" fire (actually another gas fire repeatedly lit by the instructor) with CO2 extinguishers (which are very heavy!).
