ROCKS FALL; EVERYBODY DIES
Here is a large collection of screencaps of THE REASON I WAS SO DESPERATE FOR EPISODE 22 TO GET SUBBED. With commentary.
So this is where, as the title says, rocks fall, and everyone dies. Well. Nearly everyone. I tried to provide as much context as possible, but I AM ALSO LAZY, so I will supplement with commentary explaining wtf is going on.
SO FIRST. Kan'u and Chouhi, Ryuubi's sworn brothers, die because Koumei is a dick. And then Koumei has to go "lol Rikuson did it :D". So now Ryuubi has gone TOTALLY INSANE and is attacking Go in order to get revenge against Rikuson and the six steeds. OH RIGHT AND HE IS A GIANT DRAGON NOW. Also, did I mention going insane?
Meanwhile, Koumei is up in the Wu Zhang Plains cutting the link to the six steeds' connection to the imperial seal, which renders them completely powerless. While they're in the middle of fighting giant fucking dragon Ryuubi. SMOOTH.
The bloodfest is starting with Shokatsukin Shiyu, Koumei's older brother. Ryuubi loev Koumei, so TARGETING HIS BROTHER FIRST is kind of a sign of OH SHIT HE FLIPPED NOW.
YEAH HE'S DEAD NOW. THE IMPALING IS ONE CLUE. THE CRACKED GLASSES JUST CLINCH IT.
This causes Ryoutou, who still has his powers for some reason, to completely flip his shit. I kind of didn't cap him flinging the massive super-boomerang at Ryuubi because I was lazy, but he DID and then he lost his powers and the boomerang did ZERO DAMAGE. Still with me? Good.
This single shot is representative of EVERYONE LOSING THEIR POWERS NOW. In a badly CGed fashion. CUBE POWERS DISSIPATE!
Leading into a flashback! For the record, Ryuubi went and attacked Gi first, and Chouryou (on the right) was one of the few survivors. He had a connection to the imperial seal that was ALSO supposedly severed. He was also a BAD GUY until Ryuubi started pissing people off, so hey. SURPRISE SURPRISE.
"Jesus fucking Christ, Ryoutou! I have an idea! How about you SHUT UP AND STOP SCREAMING FOR ONCE and maybe the dragon won't freeze you to death!"

No, there's no gap in the screencaps here. Yes, Ryoutou, this is what happens when you're dying of hypothermia. Fun fact: the term "Freezing to death" is usually inaccurate because it's the hypothermia that kills; the freezing comes later. In this case, however, since it's happening so fast? Would it be safe to say he DID freeze to death? :O
"Hang in there" is a handy way to avoid saying "You're boned."
"Kannei, I'm sorry I tried to kill you that one time and then gave you hell and also annoyed you by falling asleep on you after Chi Bi.... oh right, and dying on you."
