(no subject)
in time for valentines day:
i decided to write this one, because i thought the idea of it was funny. it somehow turned into a poem, i'm not sure why. it's not great, but heck... i'm surprised i could even write anything like this =)
most of this is read with iamb, with a rhyme scheme of AABBA, except for the last couple of lines... for some reason, those take on more of a limerick type of meter.
i asked to be my valentine
i asked 'will you be mine?'
i said to me:
'begone with thee
ne'er will i be thine'
saddened i was wont to be
for rejected had i been by me
and weep i did
who was i to kid?
hang i will from the deadened tree
but later now my tears did leave
for one appeared to console my grief
none other but i
ne'er more shy
said he 'weep not! in you i believe'
'i will take you out to dairy queen
and give to you a sweetened dream
fear not i'll pay
and you'll be gay
and forget that ever he was mean'
i recall'd naught of me thereafter
and told i that he was the better
he gave me the dream
gave me everything
and we lived happily ever after
ahhh... self love. like i said, not great. but alright. and i like the idea of being rejected by me, until me #3 shows up and whisks me away to dairy queen for ice cream. (so yes, i basically go alone and buy ice cream =P).
