i thought i was going to be so depressed today. i woke up realizing that it was game day in Aggieland, and, well, i was no longer a student who got to go to the game.
i knew that i was going to go to the game a little bit today because i had to write a feature on gameday for The Eagle. but it was not gonna be the same.
i arrive shortly before halftime (yes late because i still had to do my rounds and make calls). i get there just as the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band takes the field.
so i make my way down to the track where us cool people from the press get to go. it was sooooooooo cool to see the band up close. after that i saw the junction boys being presented on the field. man those guys are so tough after what they had to put up with. after halftime they walked right by me haha.
shortly after i saw the first touchdown of the second half--it was like yards in front of me--total sweetness. =)
so overall my first trip back to Kyle Field as a former student was not so bad. i got to see the stadium looks like all decked out in maroon, and let me say--wow i was getting goosebumps. i got more when i for a brief moment envisioned what that staduim looked like with all the decks wearing red, white and blue three years ago.
i also got hit on by some event worker on the field. he almost got in trouble because he was talking to me---haha opps..nice to know i still got it!
but man in conclusion: it is cool to be an Aggie, no matter what people say!
Gig 'Em!
