Brutalism is a style where walls are intentally made rough. This is a description of Grandma's house when we were through with painting it. T_T
Spent the first 3 days scraping off the old layer of paint, which has started to peel off. Used the other days to patch up dents, smooth out surfaces (unsuccessfully), apply varnish and then 2 layers of paint.
Two aunts and one uncle came over to help out. The other uncles seem to be working even on Sunday shifts whenever their mother-in-law needs help with anything. >_>
I met a lot of old folks on the way to my Grandma's apartment, as it is an old neighbourhood. A lot of them gave me warm smiles, which made me feel very loved. :D There are 2 particular instances which I remember well.
1. Saw 2 elderlies lifting 3 bags of 5kg rice from a supermarket. O_O When I offered help, they eyed me suspiciously. They have a right to do so, because, apparently, there are a lot of assholes around who scam old folks. People who cheat helpless, ignorant people are nothing but absolute trash. D: On the way to their apartment, I lectured them on several proper ways of carrying heavy groceries.
2. Ran into an old men who held my hand and smiled at me so sincerely that made me wish I have a doting grandfather too. T_T
