Went to Dundas square for Spiral Beach. They're a Toronto band and  friends of friends, but I'd never seen them play before. Loved it. Vam back an hour later for Melissa Auf Der Maur, who is lovely as ever. Stuck around for Burning Brides, which was a great surprise because I ended up LOVING them.  Stayed there for Black Lips, obviously. Crazy energy, crowd surfing while taking pictures.  It was fucking buck.

Then hightailed it to Elmo to catch the end of The Vibrants' set and You Say Party! We Say Die!
And over to Sneaky Dee's for Japanther. Who knew that 7 foot ceiling would allow wnough room for people to crowd surf. I thought the floor would cave in and we'd end up downstairs in people's nachos.

Highlights from the Now Lounge after party: hung out with Dimitri and Jeff from Burning Brides. Got to spend more time with our friends Justin and Christina who came down for the festival. Foodfight with the Black Lips. Trying to convince people to kick in doors.
