free speech

The most defining point in our country's history... the freedom to say anything and express one's views without fear of punishment.

I firmly support this right and applaud the efforts by judiciary bodies to prevent other offices attempts at curbing free speech.

There was a time in this country when people knew the President had mistresses, knew certain celebrities were homosexuals, and knew who was sleeping with who.... but they did not report on it. Now anyone who wants to make a buck preys on their fellow Americans' privacy, pain, joy, sickness, and health.

I believe these very acts demean the right set down by the framers of the Constitution just as badly as the people who wish to control what other people say. The simple act of being decent and discreet is gone... thrown out like so many day-old tabloids.

So without futhur ado, I am going to exercise my right to free speech:

Screw you, Joyce Maynard, for living off of someones pain. How dare you pour salt on a gaping wound that once was a family? If you decide to look for your conscience, don't forget to check the sewers... but don't mistake it for one of the many pieces of filth and other lost, American consciences floating around down there.
