Ben paced the length of the meeting room, nervous about the meeting to come and really needing a cigarette to calm his nerves. They were at the halfway point through his recovery, and that meant today Dr. Feel Good would be bringing his parents in to come in and see his progress, as well as talk to him.
It was supposed to help shape the things he would work on for the last fifteen days. Things he needed to make strides towards if he wanted to get out of here on time.
Ben was feeling a lot better than he had the day he arrived at the rehab center. He still had shakes and cravings for the drugs, usually when he was waking up in the morning, but even they were weakening as each day passed. He'd never admit it out loud, but he was actually sorta grateful for being here.
Ben knew now he had needed help, and hated to remember just how far he had to fall before it was offered to him. How much time he had wasted... and how much he head hurt his mother in all this.
He stood in front of the window, looking out at the courtyard. He saw the familiar blonde walking around with some of the other patients, and he smiled to himself. Yes, Elle was another thing he was very grateful for in being here. It had been a long time since someone had cared about him the way he was... and ever since that night in the storage closet...
At that point the door opened and Dr. Feel Good walked in, leading Lisa and Dean into the room. Lisa saw Ben and smiled at him, relieved that he was looking so much healthier than he had in years. Not his best, of course, but it had only been 15 days.
Ben smiled hesitantly, walking over to join them. "Hey Mom. Dean."
Dr. Feel Good smiled and motioned to the leather couches. "Let's sit and talk, shall we?"
