After the skies dumped two feet of snow upon us over the weekend, we were predicted to get another 10 - 20 inches over the course of last night and tonight. Luckily, this storm brought the lower end of that, but 10 inches is nothing to sneeze at, especially when we hadn't fully recovered from the 20+ dropped not more than 72 hours before. I clearly live in the wrong place. Here in Hagerstown, we have a whopping 0 inches of snow on the ground. that's right, the roads are dry. Meanwhile, over in Washington, D.C., the total accumulation is 8 inches. Meanwhile, Lynchburg and Richmond got around a foot. Even parts of Georgia and Alabama saw 6 inches of snow. We finally got some spring-like weather returning to us. Yesterday's high peaked at 49 degrees, according to Weather.com, and with the sun shining, it felt nice. I took the dogs on a hike up to Annapolis Rocks, but we made a much longer hike out of it. Annapolis Rocks is about 2 miles north on the Appalachian Trail from where it crosses I-70. Looks like I chose the wrong year to pass up working at L.L. Bean. Much of New England has already received more snow this Winter than it did the entirety of last season. This much real snow ought to mean great skiing. Why am I stuck in Maryland!?

Well, the year is about 6 hours from ending, and I have no plans for the evening. Erin's working a double tonight, 2nd and 3rd shifts, so she'll be home and crashing around 8am. I've got a good dog and an untrustworthy (but cute) puppy to watch, so I can't really go anywhere too far. I'm not even sure if I'll watch the ball drop.

So, as most of you know, I made a spur-of-the-moment trip to New Hampshire to meet with a couple of professors at UNH for potential graduate school study. We ended up not finding a place to keep the dogs, so Jenelle was gracious enough to watch them for a few days while we were up in New Hampshire. My two dogs are the best traveling dogs ever.
