klamathvx. It was a great weekend, and I wish it could have lasted longer. Friday we left a little after noon and with a few stops got to the Delaware Water Gap (pictured right) by 4 pm. We then proceeded to climb Mt. Tammany (pictured right) taking the long way up and the short, but steeper, way down. It was a somewhat hazy day, hot and very humid, but it was a great workout nonetheless. The view was still gorgeous, and as we reached the top, there was a small bear amongst the blueberry bushes.
After the hike, we drove to Madison and ate at the Firehouse. Mmm, good pizza! After dinner it was off to Doug and Ali's for a night of games. The next morning we headed up to my old stomping grounds in Ringwood, played with the animals, and then took a short hike up to
high point. Then it was off to Campmor where I bought two non-cotton breathable/quick-dry shirts for $11 each and the MSR pocket rocket stove. I still need a water filter. After shopping, we ate at a Thai restaurant in Ridgewood and then headed over to Lori's "Welcome Home" party. The party was ok, but we spent most of it inside with Jenelle and her boy as we didn't know anyone else there.
Today we putzed around Weis in the morning, had brunch at the nearby diner, and drove home. Exciting, huh?
Perhaps I'll elaborate more later.
Gas Watch:
Leaving home, I filled up for $2.95, the going rate here in Central PA. When we got to NJ, I saw an Exxon Station near Summit for $3.49. Well, that must be a dishonest gas station because the going rate at most pumps was $2.87, a little cheaper than here at home. It appears prices have gone down a little for I filled up again at Sheetz in Milesburg for $2.89.
