[Picspam] Top 12 Met Ball Looks.
The Met Ball brought a lot of celebrities on the red carpet last night, and these are my TOP 12 looks plus a special mention you'll see right at the beginning. There weren't a lot of beautifully dressed people, to be quite honest, but I definitely like a few of them. I would have loved to see more color, but anyway... here are my favorites in order, from least favorite to best.
00 → kristen stewart in chanel
Yeah, don't panic. She's not on the best dressed list :P But since everyone's talking about how bad she looks, I'm going to throw my two cents in by saying she doesn't look that bad. Yes, the dress doesn't really suit her, but I love the Twenties hairstyle and dark make-up and accessories. She's carrying a clutch... and I think this is a first for Kristen. I just love her attitude here, and like it or not, I think she owns the look. I'm not usually a big fan of what Kristen wears (though she improved a lot lately) and this is definitely not one of my favorites, but I think the look screams "KRISTEN" all over, and that's why I don't think this is a total flop.
10 → emma watson in burberry
Emma looks beautiful in a custom made Burberry gown. Truth to be said, I don't like the dress. Burberry and gowns is a combo that just doesn't work for me. I love the make-up, shoes and accessories (minus the coffin-like clutch), but the dress is just boring. Emma lacks any particular attitude to give personality to a boring dress, and the whole look is a bit plain to me. You're young, you're beautiful, Emma! Stop wearing neutral colors only, and play with colors for God's sake! Plus, this reminds me a lot of what Clare Danes wore at the BAFTA's this year. This just totally lacks any wow-factor.
10 → diane kruger in calvin klein
This dress is elegant but equally boring. The big difference is that Diane makes it interesting. This is one of those gowns that need to be worn by someone who knows what she's doing to be working. I really like it, chic and simple and ethereal as Diane is.
09 → sienna miller in emilio pucci
Sienna looked as sexy as ever in a midnight blue dress by Emilio Pucci. I'm not a big fan of super-sexy looks at these events (that's why Blake Lively wasn't included in this list), but I love how everything matches, the shoes (FIERCE!) and accessories, and her eyecolor just makes this look even better! Jude Law isn't a bad extra accessory either :P
08 → jennifer lopez in zuhair murad
Jennifer's beautiful in this super-big sparkling dress! I just love the shape of it and the details, she's shining! The only problem is her expression... I couldn't find a pretty smile to include in the picspam. The diva-like attitude has gone a bit too far. Nonetheless, she looks amazing.
07 → jessica alba in sophie theallet
I LOVE the colors of the gown Jessica's wearing! I love pink and black together, and the fabric of this dress looks simply amazing. Not a big fan of the hair, but the overall result is outstanding. Cute earrings.
06 → anne hathaway in valentino
Anne looks like a fairytale princess in this beautiful Valentino gown. I love the sparkles, and the big big skirt *sighs* The color works really well with her hair. She's stunning in this one.
05 → maggie gyllenhaal in louis vuitton
I like Maggie because she's always different, and being different, well... it's something I like. She looks gorgeous in this Louis Vuitton dress. I absolutely ADORE the shape of it, the big skirt and how the black parts divide it. I also really really like the shape of the upper part *__* The hair completes the amazing look. I LOVE THIS, OMG.
04 → sarah jessica parker in halston heritage
Sarah risks every single time to go from a fantastic look to a too-much look. This time I just ADORE the shape of this dress and the color of it. I'm a sucker for pastels this year. I love how the skirt moves along with her *__* She looks fresh and Spring-y, I love this.
03 → zoe saldana in calvin klein
Zoe is one of the most beautiful human beings EVER. I love the shape of this dress, the color and how elegant and chic she looks. Plus, she ALWAYS smiles and this is something I just LOVE. She's such a happy person, love her.
02 → melissa george in j. mendel
Melissa looks amazing in a stunning marygold J. Mendel dress! I know, I know... there's no wow-factor since Michelle Williams wore a dress of the same color at the Oscars back in 2006, but who cares! I LOVE this color and I love the amazing details on the upper part, plus all those ruffles on the skirt. This works incredibly well with her dark locks, and her accessories are to die for as well. She's stunning.
02 → camilla belle in jason wu
It's a tie between Melissa and Camilla for this second place. Camilla looks like a princess in this amazing Jason Wu red dress. I love everything, the hair, the make-up, the dress. She's outstanding without even trying too hard. I adore it.
01 → naomi watts in stella mccartney
Naomi Watts is my favorite of the night in this amazing fuchsia dress by Stella McCartney. It's a particular model and the color is just W.O.W. I love the ruffled detail on the shoulder and how she combed her hair. Really like the accesories as well. So you'll noticed, I always vote for color, and that's why she's my best dressed of the night :D
