26! 2-6! TWENTY-SIX DAYS! That would be THREE WEEKS and FIVE DAYS! It's getting so close!
So today was Father's Day and dad wanted to go to the cottage for lunch. No prob...except for the fact that i have been to the cottage about 6 times since my grandfather died in 1995 (it was his cottage and when he died, my douche of an uncle got it and basically let the place fall into disrepar). I no longer have the urge to go there and see what it's become. BUT! since Dad wanted to go, Gibbs and i went in....in my car. There was no way i was going to spend a second longer there than i had too. GIbbs was in heaven. In fact, he was having such a good time in the water that he didn't want to get out...like at all. At one point he was about 10 feet from shore and heading away from land. Thankfully, when you say 'Hi Taz" Gibbs goes a little a squirrely looking for him. So we said 'hi taz' and sure enough, Gibbs headed for soild ground to search from (i never said that the dog was a genius ALL the time). About 30 minutes after that, and a bunch of horsefly bites later, the mutt and i headed home. Mom and dad stayed another couple of hours. When we got home, i went for a swim in our 80 degree pool and did some laundry. Oh the exciting life i lead *rolls eyes* Today is June 19 and here is today's useless piece of Newfoundland information:
1932 (May 20-21) - Amelia Earhart flew solo across Atlantic from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland to Ireland, in 14 hours 56 minutes -- the first woman and the second person to fly solo across the Atlantic, the first person to cross the Atlantic twice non-stop, and also setting the record for the longest distance flown by a woman and for the fastest flight across the Atlantic Ocean
see you tomorrow!
